Busy week presenting for the group. Xiaoqi and Courtney presented posters at the Duke Chemistry Research Symposium (CRS). Courtney also presented her poster at the Advanced Light Imaging and Spectroscopy (ALIS) Kickoff meeting. Kevin even joined in on the fun and gave a talk at the ALIS Kickoff meeting. Learn more about the ALIS center here: https://alis.duke.edu
Xiaoqi gives a lightning talk at the CRS about her hsSRS scope – details coming soon to a journal near you!
Courtney presents her 3D-FASTR method. See the preprint here: https://arxiv.org/abs/1909.12893
Courtney presented her new volumetric imaging method at FiO/LS 2019 in DC. The preprint of that work is available here: https://arxiv.org/abs/1909.12893
Shangguo has developed a 3D particle tracking method which adapts in real-time to changes in particle diffusion. This method is particularly well-suited for processes which exhibit highly heterogeneous dynamics, such as the binding of a single virion to a live cell from the extracellular space. Shangguo and Courtney’s review of the current state and future outlook of real-time 3D single particle tracking was just published in Molecules. Check it out here:
Courtney presented her microscope at the Chemistry Graduate Symposium on 10/8/18. Amazing work!
A huge congratulations to Courtney and Xiaoqi for being selected for departmental fellowships!! Courtney was awarded the Marcus Hobbs Fellowship and Xiaoqi was awarded the Kathleen Zielik Fellowship. These awards reflect the hard work you both have been putting in – keep it up!
Courtney and Shangguo presented at this year’s excellent FIP symposium. Shangguo took home third place in the poster competition. Way to go!
A belated welcome to Chen Zhang, a first year Chemistry graduate student who joins the tracking team. Welcome Chen!
Shangguo presented a poster at the meeting of the Biophysical Society in SF this past week!
